New Document

Local (This device)

On the root page (/), clicking a thumbnail in the left "Samples" section creates a new local document initialized from that sample. You can also create an empty document from the "+ New document" button in the "This device" section. Both work without sign-in and are saved in this browser. You can also import by dropping a .zuga.png / .zuga.svg file anywhere onto the This device list panel.

Local documents exist only in this browser and device. They will be lost if browser data is cleared.

Google Drive

Sign in with your Google account and a "+ New document" button appears in the "Google Drive" section on the root page. Clicking it creates a new .zuga.png file in your Google Drive. You can also open the file page on Google Drive in a separate tab from the Google Drive icon button on each document row. While signed in, you can also import by dropping a .zuga.png / .zuga.svg file anywhere onto the Google Drive list panel.

If a Drive operation from an external integration is unsigned, a confirmation dialog is shown before execution.

Changing storage destination

You can change the storage destination between local and Drive from the document list on the root page.

  • Drive → Local: Drag a Drive document item by its drag handle and drop it into the This device list to move it.
  • Local → Drive: Drag a local document item by its drag handle and drop it into the Google Drive list to move it (sign-in required).
  • While dragging, the preview shows the whole document row (not just the handle), and the original slot is left blank.
  • While moving, the source item becomes invisible and a semi-transparent item appears in the destination list. The entire screen darkens with a centered message: "Moving files. Please wait a moment." All other interactions are disabled until completion, then it becomes fully opaque.
